Magma puttered around the lobby of the hotel is his faded monastery robes. The Sunday morning light shone through some of the exterior windows, and the cats, followed him as he walked through the light beams on the floors. Well, to be fair Daffodil followed him, Suzie just attempted to slowly waddle in their general direction, before falling, and lounging in a sun beam. One of the hotel dogs ambled by and, upon seeing the whale of a cat, decided he didn’t want to risk whatever caused her condition, and continued on.
“Meowwwwww” whined Daffodil, causing Magma to turn his head as he paced, to answer the cat. “I told you, we are not going to the park to meditate and eat cheeseburgers. I am visiting my brother today.” Magma calmly repeated to the cat.
“Meorrrreeewwwwwww!” The cat huffed.
“I am seeing my brother today. You can achieve your own cheeseburger, and even inner peace if you are interested. I have preached both these values to you before my furry friend.” He scolded softly.
Without saying another ‘word’ The cat glared at his keepers feet, and promptly turned and stalked off, gracefully walking around the now beached fatter feline. Magma continued to pace excitedly in the meantime.
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy was Fire excited about today. Sunday was here and all he could think about was the race. He had missed most of the Nascar races this season due to working one job or another. This resulted in him having to, gasp, watch reruns on the television, but not today! Today, he was hauling Magma to see one of the races. It was the best way to bond… a nice cold E-Tank and a race meant nothing could go wrong! At least not with Magma.
Fire hadn’t been able to settle down the night before as he lounged back in his car seat just thinking about the race. His energy only burned on into the early hours of the morning because of this. Already he could feel the ground trembling beneath his feet as cars zoomed, the deafening sound of their engines following after the mechanical beast that plowed by seconds before, and the roar of the crowd when a wreck happened. If Fire could get stars in his eyes, then they would be there at that moment while he got caught up in his imagination.
When the sun broke over the horizon, Fire was already driving to the hotel, the whine of country filtering out opened windows like it wasn’t 6am. He was polite enough to turn down his music as he pulled into the hotel’s parking lot, but that didn’t stop him from whistling as he slipped out of the big black truck and mozyed on over to the hotel’s entrance.
He was right on time, and in his excitement he pushed the door open with enthusiasm and forgot to catch hold of the knob before it smacked into the nearby wall. Oops. He flinched visibly, his body drawing inward as he sucked his bottom lip in and quickly glanced around to see if anyone saw that.
“Sorry.” He whispered to the door as if it could feel, and after hesitantly patting it with his hand he stepped inside and straightened to his full height.
Magma turned at the sudden entrance and energy change in the room, laughing as the grand door slammed at full speed into the wall. He walked forward and opened his arms wide to receive his brother. “HELLO FIRE. You old so and so! My memories are a little rusty but I recall you being able to use a door!” He chided merrily.

Wow, I
No
